1. Toothbrush Holder
When you think of the bathroom, I’m sure you think germ city! Considering we all brush our teeth 2 or more times a day, our toothbrush holders need attention! After you brush your teeth, all the germs from your toothbrush can transfer to the toothbrush holder.
If you have a dishwasher safe toothbrush holder you can run it through the dishwasher on a sanitizing cycle or wash it with hot water and soap once a week. Also, be sure to change out your toothbrush every few months. If you’ve been sick you can rinse it with peroxide to kill those icky germs!
2. Cell Phones
Cell phones are probably one of the most commonly touched objects of all! We’re all constantly carrying around and using our phones. As you can imagine all the germs from your hands do transfer to your phone!
Disinfect your phone daily using a UV light sanitizer or microfiber cloth and a disinfecting wipe.
3. Handles, Light Switches, and Doorknobs
These items also see use every single day and can build up the germs very quickly, especially when you have kids. Since these areas are smaller, they’re easy to forget. Try to sanitize them with disinfecting wipes weekly.
4. Laptops & Computers
Whether you work from home or not, most of us use a computer at some point in our day. Since our computers are touched by all of our fingers, the keyboard and mouse can get really germy! Be sure to use a sanitizing wipe to wipe them down every few days!
5. Handbags & Wallets
This one is so easy to forget! We bring our handbags and wallets all over when we go out and touch them with germy hands. Be sure to wipe them down at least once a week!
6. Remote Controls (TV, fan, video games, etc.)
Remote controls are another tricky item that gets used every day but you may forget to add to your cleaning routine. Wipe them down to disinfect them when you wipe down your computer and keyboard!
7. Kitchen Sponges and Dish Towels
The kitchen is a very germy place and even though sponges and dish towels are used to clean other things that don’t mean they stay clean. Sponges and towels need to be changed out daily and washed in hot water and soap to kill all those nasty kitchen germs!
