WHAT IS MANUKA HONEY?
Manuka honey comes from the Manuka tree in New Zealand. In the nectar, there is a natural saccharide called Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). Bees take the nectar and turn it into honey.
Then, through a natural chemical reaction, the DHA in the nectar is converted into a compound called Methylglyoxal (MGO). MGO is the main chemical responsible for the amazing antibacterial properties in Manuka honey that makes it so great for skin.
